Introducing the Next Generation TDFi-FA Airflow and Temperature Measurement System by Ruskin® for Enhanced Fan Array Applications

February 15, 2024

Ruskin® unveils its cutting-edge TDFi-FA thermal dispersion fan inlet system, tailored specifically for fan array setups in commercial HVAC systems. Engineered with state-of-the-art thermal dispersion sensing technology, the TDFi-FA not only accurately gauges airflow rates but also monitors temperature, seamlessly transmitting crucial system data to the building automation system (BAS) via analog outputs or communication protocols. This groundbreaking innovation optimizes system performance, ensuring greater energy efficiency while upholding optimal air ventilation for healthier indoor environments.

Introducing the Next Generation TDFi-FA Airflow and Temperature Measurement System by Ruskin® for Enhanced Fan Array Applications

"Prioritizing healthy indoor air quality alongside energy efficiency is paramount," affirmed John Haukap, Ruskin's product manager. "Monitoring airflow is pivotal in achieving this balance. The TDFi-FA offers systems engineers the confidence that adequate airflow is consistently delivered throughout occupied spaces."

Crafted with a compact cantilevered sensor design, the TDFi-FA conveniently mounts at the fan inlet, serving as a unified interface capable of accommodating up to 32 sensors across 16 fans of identical diameters.

Key features of the TDFi-FA include:

  • Streamlined installation with standard cabling and tool-free, one-touch setup
  • Built-in 1-, 2-, or 3-point field calibration using real airflows
  • Standard compatibility with BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU, and analog outputs
  • Compliance with industry standards including BACnet International (BTL listed), CE, UL-60730 listed, UL-60335-2-40 compliant, and FCC Part 15 compliant
  • Certified Sensor Housing Assembly meeting IP-54 rating criteria per IEC 60529, Ed. 2.2 08/29/2013

The Ruskin TDFi-FA is designed to fulfill minimum outside air requirements mandated by LEED (USGBC), ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 189.1, California Title 24, International Mechanical Code (IMC), and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
