Our Elevator Floor System is a customizable system of products created to meet or exceed the stringent demands placed upon a floor by heavily used elevators. Two general types of resin seamless floor coatings are offered as part of the system:

Self-leveling Epoxy Coating

Our Self-leveling Epoxy coating is a cost-effective and popular option for elevators. It meets the needs of industrial facilities, retail stores, luxury apartment buildings, and office space elevators. Multiple topcoat options are available in gloss, satin, or chemical-resistant finishes.

Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) Coating

MMA is the most hardwearing available option. MMA coatings are widely used in industrial and outdoor elevator applications. They’re semi-flexible, so they withstand impacts and freeze-thaw conditions making them perfect for freight elevators, high-volume passenger elevators, manufacturing facility elevators, parking garage elevators, and outdoor lifts. Our Macrylex S26 topcoat is chemical-resistant and can take the abuse of high volumes of traffic and heavy machinery and weight-bearing loads.

Differences between Epoxy and MMA based systems

Epoxy	MMA
Number of steps spread over 3 to 4 days	Installation steps can be completed in 1 or 2 days
Nearly odor-free. Can be installed in an occupied building	Need thorough ventilation system in occupied buildings
Material cost is less than MMA, but the labor component may be more due to the number of steps spread over 3 to 4 days	Material cost may be more than epoxy, but labor cost is less since the installation can be completed in 1 or 2 days.
Popular metallic epoxy systems can be incorporated for more designer looks	Suitable for freight or service elevators

Options

With either type of coating, decorative quartz aggregate can be added as a design option while providing anti-slip properties. Resin chips can also be added to either coating option. View the color charts below to see the options for the resin bodycoat, quartz, and color chips.
