Vertigo Double (pictured below) may look like a designer chandelier or a contemporary art sculpture piece, but it is actually an island range hood meant to increase air quality and enhance the cooking experience while inspiring onlookers.

“Vertigo Double was inspired by the shape of the air itself,” says Brian Wellnitz, marketing manager, kitchen ventilation, BEST. “The designer mirrored the circular motion of the air in the hood’s polished silver curves, and we thought it was a brilliant way to pair the function of the range hood with a unique design.” And viewers seem to agree in market surveys, as many guessed a chandelier when first asked to identify Vertigo Double. This range hood features high quality lighting that enhances the cooking experience. Vertigo Double is an air recirculation range hood, using special filtration to reduce smoke and odors.

“We wanted to give discriminating homeowners and kitchen designers a way to make a striking artistic statement while providing benefits of a range hood,” continues Wellnitz. “The cooking experience is first and foremost – we just wanted to make it a little more inspiring.”

The BEST Sorpresa website includes the Sorpresa Visualizer tool in which homeowners can mix and match range hoods from the Sorpresa collection in different kitchen motifs, inspiring designers and clients to envision how Vertigo Double will look in their cooking space.
