PURPLE returns to Blog Cabin TV series

On Monday, July 28, the DIY Network will start airing new episodes of Blog Cabin 2014. Homeowners/ consumers will once again see National Gypsum's PURPLE® commercial and PURPLE® high-performance products delivering value and peace of mind that lasts in every room.

For the third consecutive year, the company is sponsoring Blog Cabin to educate consumers about the benefits of using PURPLE when they are thinking about remodeling or building their homes.

New Blog Cabin episodes will air on DIY Network each Monday evening at 9:30 p.m. ET through September 1. An hour-long special on Monday, September 8, will summarize the entire project. A lucky sweepstakes winner will receive the keys to the lakeside vacation retreat in the heart of central Florida. Blog Cabin picked up the house, moved it seven miles to a lake near Winter Haven and renovated it using PURPLE.

“PURPLE will be a pivotal building material in this season of Blog Cabin, because the house needs our high-performance products to stand up to Florida’s notorious humidity,” said Marketing Director Jay Watt. “We chose to feature PURPLE XP drywall and PermaBase cement board in the Bath Crashers episode this year, because homeowners need to know that walls and what they are made of are important, especially in high moisture and critically wet areas in the bathrooms.”

Blog Cabinis an interactive home-building television series now in its eighth season on the DIY Network. Over the last several weeks, fans voted on DIY Network’s website for design elements in the 1920s lakeside house that will become a luxurious getaway.

Television segments were filmed during the renovation using DIY Network’s all-star cast of remodeling experts, featuring host Chris Grundy. The following episodes will air Mondays at 9:30 p.m. ET:

• July 28 – Demolition episode “Sledgehammer”
• August 4 – Kitchen Crashers hosted by Alison Victoria
• August 11 – Bath Crashers (featuring PURPLE) hosted by Matt Muenster
• August 18 – Mega Dens hosted by PURPLE spokesperson Anitra Mecadon
• August 25 –Yard Crashers hosted by Matt Blashaw and Ahmad Hassan
• September – Yardcore hosted by Jake and Joel Moss
• September 8 – One-hour recap special at 9 p.m.
