About Silere Acoustic Panels

Silere Acoustic Panels

PalmSHIELD’s Silere Acoustic Panels

Mechanical equipment screening should not only provide an appealing security enclosure.  Architectural equipment screen fencing should also support reducing the wave energy generated by sound and electromagnetic waves produced by this equipment.  PalmSHIELD’s Silere Acoustic panel system is designed to provide architecturally appealing finishes while reducing noise from beyond the enclosure.   The Silere Acoustic panel system compliments any of our architectural screen fencing options with layers of state of the art noise reducing materials and design while still providing affordable solutions.

Silere Acoustic Panel Design

Designed to Reduce Noise Beyond the Enclosure

PalmSHIELD’s Silere sound barrier wall is designed to reduce noise beyond the enclosure.  The acoustic panel is used to reduce mechanical and industrial noise.  A great choice to reduce traffic noise and noise cause by chillers, air handling equipment, fans, transformers, compressors etc.

Our acoustic panels will be custom designed for your site.  PalmSHIELD provides assistance in calculating the height and design of your sound wall project.  Common applications include:

PalmSHIELD’s  sound barrier walls can be designed with any of PalmSHIELD’s aesthetic finishes, including our faux brick and stone, composite, vinyl, aluminum and louvers.   Match your building exterior and reduce unwanted noise.  Public utilities that include electrical sub-stations with transformers, generators or pumps find PalmSHIELD’s acoustic screening to  work extremely well for both noise reduction and residential compatibility.  Commercial developments, professional and residential developments have strict noise compliance codes

Beyond PalmSHIELD’s ground level sound barrier walls, our acoustic screening can used on rooftops to reduce roof top equipment.  Using PalmSHIELD’s engineered roof rails, acoustic screening matching your building’s exterior finishes can be designed to reduce unwanted noise form chillers, condensers, cooling towers, etc.

PalmSHIELD’s Silere Acoustic Screening

  • Custom designed for mechanical equipment to work around electrical ducts and piping.
  • Self-draining by allowing self-wicking.
  • Acoustic performance proven by NRIC accredited testing facility.  Panel performance is StC 40-43 and NRC 1.0.
  • System includes AutoCAD and BIM submittal drawings.
  • Panels constructed of structural aluminum 6061 and 6063 grade.
  • All hardware to be provided in stainless 304 or 316.
  • All fabrication in accordance with AWS D1.2.
  • The acoustic fill will be long strand fiberglass or mineral wool.
  • All fill material will be inert, mildew resistant, vermin proof, and incobustible and are suitable for wet/dry and freeze/thaw cycling.
  • All testing in accordance with ASTM C423, Standard Method of Test for Sound Absorption.
  • All panel internal and external reinforcing members shall be structural aluminum and exclusive to PalmSHIELD.

PalmSHIELD’s acoustic panels feature exclusive engineered I-Beam columns. These unique columns offer the installer the flexibility to set all columns before installing the panels or use a post-panel, post-panel method. One flange of the I-beam column is removable via stainless steel countersunk fasteners. By removing the flange, the panel can be slid in from the back of the enclosure. Once in place, the flange is bolted back, forming the I-beam design. The vertical channels lock in place as the flange is tightened to the column, eliminating the need for additional or exposed fasteners.

PalmSHIELD’s columns and tapered vertical panel channels create an architectural seam that accommodates slight variations in post spacing. This combination ensures a consistent three-inch reveal around each panel.

The vertical channels provide a four-inch wide cavity that can be finished with a variety of PalmSHIELD’s architectural finishes, including faux brick, stone, composite woods, vinyl, aluminum, and louvered designs. The backside of the Silere acoustic panel features a perforated sheet for sound absorption, wicking, and drying, while preventing rodent access. Between the decorative exterior and perforated interior sheets, a structural Z horizontal rail supports the panel weight and prevents oil-canning. Additional Z clips may be added based on panel width and size.

The cavity of PalmSHIELD’s Silere acoustic panels is filled with long strand fiberglass or mineral wool, based on application, at a fill level of four pounds per cubic foot. This insulation, known for its excellent sound absorption, forms the foundation of the system.
