Pinched fingers. Busted hinges. Broken snaps. Too much set-up time. These are just a few of the complaints dealers and end users typically voice when discussing traditional folding projection screens. Draper, Inc. has taken all of these problems into consideration, and engineered a completely new solution in staging screens that does away with all of them.
Introduced at the 2009 InfoComm to an enthusiastic response, Draper’s new StageScreen is a unique product that saves setup time and money, and offers a better return on investment than any screen currently available.

With the StageScreen there’s no need to purchase multiple projection screens. The StageScreen’s “Lego®-like” modular design allows you to build different screen formats and sizes with different combinations and amounts of the same parts. The more additional viewing surfaces and pieces you buy, the more sizes you can build. In addition to allowing you to build multiple format and size screens, the modular design allows you to replace broken pieces quickly, with no tools—but it’s doubtful you will need to replace broken pieces. Despite the flexibility of this modular design, the StageScreen’s 8-inch truss system is over 60% stronger than traditional truss. Draper’s pre-release extended cycle testing yielded no broken parts.

The Truss segments assemble quickly, easily and securely end-to-end—there are no parts to unfold, and no hinges to pinch fingers. No hinges, no snaps, and no Handy Cranks are involved—frame sections connect using permanently attached threaded links and guide pins. Frame segments are labeled and color-coded, and an easy to follow color-coded assembly map outlining which piece goes where is included with each StageScreen.

Draper’s proprietary DuraLoop™ screen attachment system works without snaps, making it easier than ever to attach the screen surface. The DuraLoop system keeps the screen surface extremely flat, and the sturdy frame permits virtually no deflection even in large sizes. In less than 10 minutes, two people can have a 15’ x 20’ screen fully assembled and ready to fly. Legs are also available, and feature the same modular design.
