Norcross, GA - Hunter Douglas Luxalon® Metal Ceilings and Techstyle® E are the first ceiling systems to receive GREENGUARD Children and SchoolsSM certification. GREENGUARD Children and School certification indicates that a product has met the highest environmental standards for clean air and contributes to healthy work, home, school and other indoor environments.
GREENGUARD Children and Schools establishes emission controls to define low-emitting materials for environments where people spend an extended period of time. Children, in particular, are vulnerable to impure airborne toxins, as they have higher inhalation rates per pound of body weight than adults.
"Children are more sensitive and susceptible to ambient pollutants, so it is critical that our products do not release VOCs or other substances, and that they also prevent dirt buildup" says Ron Rice, Business Unit Manager of Hunter Douglas. "Because our ceiling systems are important features of building interiors, we want to make sure that all indoor environments especially schools, daycare, and healthcare facilities are protected from potentially harmful compounds."
Hunter Douglas Luxalon metal ceiling systems include Plank, Tile, Curved, XL Panel, Linear, Screen/Baffle, and Cell configurations, all of which help to define interior spaces and mask the technical elements of the plenum.
Techstyle E panels and enhanced versions of Hunter Douglas Contracts successful Techstyle Acoustical Ceilings line provides superior aesthetic and absorption features. A Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.85 provides excellent acoustical performance for classroom dynamics.
