Project Description:
The purveyor of the iPhone, iPad and Mac will soon be expanding. Dubbed the "Spacecraft", the company is now constructing Apple Campus II which includes four levels of circular office space totaling 2,800,000 sq. ft. and two below grade levels mostly for parking totaling 1,500,000 sq. ft. When completed, the circle’s interior and exterior will be mostly constructed of glass and polished concrete, and solar panels will sit atop the circle. Key National Gypsum building materials will also be integrated into the growing high-tech headquarters: 400,000 square feet of Gold Bond® BRAND eXP® Tile Backer; 250,000 square feet of Gold Bond® BRAND Fire-Shield® Shaftliner XP® Gypsum Panel; 200,000 square feet of Gold Bond® BRAND eXP® Interior Extreme® Gypsum Panel; and 3.5 million square feet of Gold Bond® BRAND 5/8” XP® Fire-Shield® Gypsum Board.
Gold Bond® eXP® Tile Backer
Gold Bond® BRAND eXP® Tile Backer is an acrylic coated moisture and mold resistant gypsum panel specially designed for use as a substrate for tile applications in high moisture areas.eXP Tile Backer is manufactured with an enhanced moisture and mold resistant core and facer. The facer is composed of an acrylic coated fiberglass mat which provides superior moisture resistant capabilities.
eXP Tile Backer is identified by National Gypsum’s original PURPLE® color on the back and gray acrylic coating on the front. View Product Information
Gold Bond® Fire-Shield® Shaftliner XP®
Gold Bond® BRAND Fire-Shield® Shaftliner XP® Gypsum Panels with Sporgard™* consist of a fire-resistant Type X gypsum core encased in a heavy moisture/mold/mildew-resistant, 100% recycled, National Gypsum's original PURPLE® paper on the face and back sides.Shaftliner XP was designed to provide extra protection against mold and mildew. The face paper is folded around the long edges to reinforce and protect the core, and the ends are square-cut and finished smooth. Long edges of panels are beveled for ease of installation. Gold Bond® eXP® Interior Extreme®
Gold Bond® BRAND eXP® Interior Extreme® Gypsum Panel is a moisture and mold resistant gypsum panel designed for interior applications requiring increased resistance to incidental moisture.It is produced in 1/2" Regular and 5/8" Fire-Shield® Type X or C, 4' wide in standard lengths. eXP Interior Extreme is lightweight, scores and cuts easily and is specially coated on the front, back and sides for easy handling. eXP Interior Extreme is easily identified by the PURPLE® back facer.
Tapered edges allow joints to be reinforced with ProForm® BRAND Joint Tape and concealed with ProForm® BRAND Ready Mix or ProForm® BRAND Quick Set Setting Compounds. View Product Information
