The design and proper preparation of roof and deck substrates plays a key role in the overall performance and aesthetics of the finished decking system. Mer-Ko's complementary underlayments ensure that uniform, sound surfaces are achieved prior to application of the waterproofing and decking systems.

Underlayment mortars can be sloped for additional drainage and protection against water pooling and penetration and to prevent elevation problems at doorways, landings, steps, elevator shafts, etc.
