Stertil-Koni USA, Inc., a European supplier of high quality, heavy-duty lifts to the vehicle maintenance industry, began operations in the United States by opening an office in Maryland in January, 1997. Within 6 short years, from an inauspicious beginning with zero market share and zero sales, Stertil-Koni USA, Inc., rapidly grew to dominate the heavy duty mobile lift industry in the United States and Canada.

From the beginning, Stertil Koni's strategy was to become leader in all aspects of heavy-duty lift vehicle maintenance. From a one product company in 1997 (the mobile lift) Stertil-Koni's US operation expanded into four post lifts, parallelogram lifts, two-post and most recently in ground hydraulic lifts. Stertil Koni's goal is to provide a full range of lifting alternatives to the heavy-duty lift user.

Stertil-Koni USA, Inc. is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of two companies which further advance that goal. On July 1, 2008, Stertil Koni's parent company, Stertil B.V., acquired ALM Corporation based in Streator, Illinois. ALM is a 23 year old manufacturer of lifts noted for quality manufacturing. ALM's acquisition will facilitate Stertil Koni's goal of manufacturing in the United States and providing global outreach for the full range of Stertil Koni's product offering.

Furthermore, on July 2, 2008, Stertil BV acquired the full assets of Fleet America Service Technology, a Maryland corporation responsible for the development and fabrication of the ECO lift, an innovative shallow pit designed heavy-duty scissors lift. This patent-pending multi-scissors lift offers the optimum in axle based vehicle lifting. The lift is being manufactured in Fleet America's Manheim, Pennsylvania facility located 1 hour east of Harrisburg.

The ECO60 was designed to improve the technological features of traditional in-ground axle engaging piston lifts. With a shallow pit depth of only 34 inches, the ECO60 requires less than 1/3 the depth of traditional piston lifts, and less than ½ the depth of existing cassette type in ground lifts, with no rebar or special construction required. The shallow pit design is particularly good for high water table areas. The 60,000 lb. capacity ECO60 lift, with a full 70 inch rise, requires only 7 gallons of fluid and is hydraulically equalized with a free standing control console and optional full-function pendant. The ECO60's unique design allows drop-in, bolt-in place installation, with no lift components embedded in the concrete floor, making for easy installation in a new or existing facility. The Continuous RecessTM front pit, also an industry first allows the bolster to recess flush to the floor anywhere in the front pit travel. The ECO60 is proudly designed, tested, and built in the United States.

The integration of these two companies into Stertil Koni's portfolio provides Stertil Koni USA, Inc. the opportunity to offer a full spectrum of lifting options presently available in the lifting industry. It fulfills Stertil Koni's long term objective of offering a "one- stop- shop" approach for all potential users of heavy-duty lifts.

These two acquisitions catapult Stertil-Koni USA, Inc. into a position of world-wide leadership in the heavy duty lifting industry. These two ambitious and forward thinking moves on the part of Stertil B.V.'s European management insure that Stertil-Koni USA, Inc. now has the most extensive range of heavy-duty lifts available in the world.
