New On-Demand Options Introduced for Document Locator® Document Management Through ProjectXnet Managed Hosting

ColumbiaSoft™ certifies The Cram Group’s ProjectXnet to provide Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Licensed Hosting options for its Document Locator software.

ColumbiaSoft and The Cram Group announced today the availability of managed hosting for the Document Locator document management system, allowing companies to choose between a new hosted method for deploying the software or the existing client/server approach. The two companies will make a joint appearance presenting the new offering at the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Conference Nov. 3-5 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On-Demand Document Management
With managed hosting, customers can use the document management system without deploying the software internally. In the traditional client/server approach, the Document Locator software is installed and managed by the customer using their own on-site technology. In circumstances where IT resources are limited or unavailable, or when a project (temporary or long-term) requires immediate turn-on of document management services, managed hosting might be considered as an option.

Two Managed Hosting Options Available:

• SaaS Subscription
  With SaaS Subscription, Document Locator is hosted and provided as a web-based service on a monthly subscription.
• Licensed Hosting
  With Licensed Hosting, customers purchase and own the Document Locator software licenses in the same manner as a client/server deployment; however, the software is deployed and provided as a web-hosted solution by ProjectXnet.

Document Locator’s availability as a hosted solution through ProjectXnet has particular advantages for architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) firms.
