Designed to keep the outside, out, this product meets the unique climate challenges of the Canadian market and enables the designer to leverage the vision area while maintaining outstanding thermal and water performance, and excellent condensation resistance. Ideal for new and retrofit construction, the AA6400/6500 Thermal Window enhances any application while delivering architectural aesthetic appeal and ease of installation for glaziers.

Unsurpassed Performance
The high-performing series includes two framing options: a 4-inch version (AA™6400 Thermal Window) and a 5-inch version (AA™6500 Thermal Window), which provides a “top hat” accent feature. Each option achieves a superb condensation index and thermal transmittance. The advanced design provides the ability to interface with air and vapor barriers to ensure the continuity of the seal at the window perimeter.

Additionally, the AA6400/AA6500 Thermal Window has a pressure equalized cavity and a rain screen design that deters water infiltration. The window accommodates 1-inch (25 mm) insulating glass units combined with a polyamide thermal break for enhanced thermal performance.

Since the windows are made from aluminum, they will never rot, warp or buckle due to moisture and weather exposure, and they attain outstanding condensation resistance, which is ideal for healthcare and education applications where condensation and mold are significant concerns. Superior thermal efficiency also makes the windows ideal for buildings seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification with the U.S. and Canadian Green Building Councils. The windows have been fully tested to all North American performance standards and meet or exceed the minimum requirements for architectural window performance class, including life cycle testing.

Ease of Installation + Beautiful Aesthetics
This window is ideal for punched and strip openings. A specially designed coupling mullion allows the windows to be installed in a multi-modular strip application. Both the 4-inch and 5-inch framing systems can accommodate projected and casement vents, which can also be installed into Kawneer’s 1600UT (Ultra Thermal) Curtain Wall System™. The windows are interior glazed using a dry glazed method, which allows for easy glazing and reglazing in the field – an added benefit in cold climates.

Kawneer’s AA6400/6500 Thermal Window offers the versatility in design and the high performance required for today‘s building applications. The operable vents have 45° mitered corners, which give the window a smooth and attractive appearance. A dual color option offers the flexibility to vary interior and exterior finishes, enabling designers to coordinate and accent multiple environments. Stylish hardware options include Euro-groove multipoint locking, roto operators and stainless steel 4-bar hinges or concealed hinges.
