Guideline Specifications for Sultra-Sultrex by Introsul, Inc. Products Including:
Synthetic Marble Vanity Tops, Counter Tops, window Stills, Tub Surrounds, Shower Pans, Miscellaneous Configurations, and Vitreous China Undermount Bowls.
The following model specification section may be located in Division 6, Wood and Plastics, Division 9, Finishes or Division 10, Specialties.
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 QUALITY ASSURANCE
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
A. Synthetic (man-made) Marble Products: Provide synthetic marble products of sizes and configurations as indicated on the Drawing, in compliance with appropriate codes, and possessing the following physical and technical characteristics:
1. All products shall have a satin or mate finish on all exposed surfaces.
2. All products must be provided in accordance with the following reference standards.
a. ANSI Z-124.3 - With regard to workmanship
b. ANSI Z 124.3 - With regard to finished quality
c. ANSI Z 124.3 - With regard to structural integrity
d. ANSI Z 124.3 - With regard to stain resistance
e. ANSI Z 124.3 - With regard to abrasion resistance
f. ANSI Z 124.3 - With regard to chemical resistance
g. ANSI Z 124.3 - With regard to cigarette/flame resistance
h. ASTM D - 2565-79 - With regard to colorfastness
2.2 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS
A. Synthetic (man-made) Marble: Provide, where indicated on the Drawings, synthetic marble products as manufactured by:

2.3 VANITY COUNTER TOPS
A. Vanity Counter Tops: Provide, where indicated on the Drawing, synthetic marble vanity tops in accordance with the criteria indicated above and possessing the following physical characteristics:
3. Vanity counter tops shall have factory-finished cutout to receive undermount vitreous china bowls, as specified on the Drawings or herein below, to be furnished by vanity manufacturer.
a. Underside of vanity counter tops shall have cast-in place metal anchors to receive screws and clips to secure undermount vitreous china bowl. Clips, screws and anchors shall be provided by the vanity counter top manufacturer.
4. Vanity counter tops shall have four inch (4") high integral (coved) backsplash as measured from the top surface of the vanity counter top.
5. Vanity counter tops shall be selected from manufacturers standard colors. custom colors or derivatives will not be accepted.
6. Vanity counter tops shall be of manufacturer's standard materials, complying with the above characteristics, and shall be a minimum of three quarters of an inch (3/4") in thickness.
7. Vanity counter tops shall include, where indicated on the Drawings, four inch (4") tall by one-half inch (1/2") thick end splashes at all vanity counter tops ends that are adjacent to wall surfaces.
8. Vanity counter top units shall include, where indicated on the Drawings, finished, dripless edge ends, as delineated above, at all vanity counter top ends that are not adjacent to wall surfaces.
9. Vanity counter top units shall include, where indicated on the Drawings, aprons of either five inches (5") in width-or-ten inches (10") in width, by the length of the vanity top, by one-quarter (1/4") thick at the front ad at ends that are not adjacent to wall surfaces, unless millwork or cabinets are indicated on the drawings.
10. Vanity counter top units shall be manufactured 'oversized' to accommodate constriction tolerances. All vanity counter tops and ancillary materials shall be cut-to-fit in the field.
2.4 UNDERMOUNT VITREOUS CHINA BOWLS
A. Vitreous China Lavatory Bowls: Vitreous china lavatory bowls shall be provided by the Vanity counter top manufacturer to assure compatibility with finished vanity counter top bowl cutout.
1. Vitreous china lavatory bowls shall have standard one and five-eighths inch (1 5/8") diameter drain hole.
2. Vitreous china lavatory bowls shall have emergency overflow in accordance with applicable codes.
2.5 TUB AND SHOWER SURROUNDS
A. Tub and Shower Surround Units: Provide, where indicated on the Drawings, synthetic marble tub surround units in accordance with the criteria indicated above and possessing the following physical characteristics:
1. Tub surrounds units shall be of one-quarter inch (1/4") panels, consisting of the following:
a. Tow panels for the rear wall of width required.
b. One ten inch (10") wide accent strip (seam cover) to cover the seam between the two panels for the rear wall indicated above.
c. One panel for the wet wall, to be drilled in the field to accommodate mixing valve and shower head.
d. One panel for the wall opposite the wet wall.
e. Two three-quarters inch (3/4") by two inch (2") by ninety-six (96") trim strips.
f. Two surface-mounted soap dishes to be mounted in locations indicated on the Drawings.
g. All materials shall be of height indicated on the Drawings.
2. Tub surround units shall be manufactured 'oversized' to accommodate construction tolerances. All tub surround units and ancillary materials shall be cut-to-fit in the field.
3. All grab bars, curtain rods, and other accessories shall be attached, through the tub surround materials and into blocking within the walls, by others.
4. Tub surround units shall match vanity top materials in color unless noted otherwise by Architect, Interior Designer or Owner.
2.5 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS
A. Seats, Sills and miscellaneous materials: Provide seats, sills, and miscellaneous materials as specified herein and in configurations and quantities indicated on the Drawings.
B. Shower Pans: Provide shower pans, of material as specified herein, and as indicated on the Drawings, and as selected from the manufacturer's standard sizes.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
A. Installation: Vanity Counter Tops, Tub Surrounds, and other units specified herein shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's published instructions by the General Contractor- or- may be installed by manufacturer's authorized installers in accordance with scope of work to be provided by the manufacturer.
