GENERAL The Excel Life Safety (XLS) Analog Addressable Controller (3-AADC) is a local rail module for use in XLS200/1000 systems. The 3-AADC allows XLS panels to support input/output points from Honeywell Analog Addressable devices such as TC806/TC807 Smoke Sensors, TC808 Heat Sensors, TC809 Monitor Modules, TC810 Control Modules, TC811 Fault Isolators, and S464A1144 Addressable Pull Stations. The 3-AADC is a an assembly of two-circuit boards consisting of a loop controller and a line interface module. Both components have on-board microprocessors as well as internal test and diagnostic functions for troubleshooting. The loop controller plugs into one rail space on XLS200/1000 panels and interfaces with the CPU for all data file processing. The loop controller also supports space and interface connections for an XLS Control Display Module which provides a variety of LED and switch configurations. The line interface module provides isolated power for ground fault detection and handles communications to the analog addressable devices. The interface contains nonvolatile memory which stores the operating system software and data file which is downloaded from a PC. No EPROM changes are required. A Microsoft® Windows based XLS System Definition Utility accomplishes data file programming including the device type, address, descriptor, and variables (such as sensitivity, verification, and Class A or B wiring). The 3-AADC isolates ground faults to a specific addressable loop and continuously checks the output value of each device. |
