S-5!TM SNOFENCE OR SNORAIL SPECIFICATIONS
S-5! [ SNOFENCE; SNORAIL ] to be furnished by LMCurbs, 609 Fisher Road (P.O. Box 5299), Longview, Texas 75604 (75608-5299), 1-903-297-2148, 1-800-284-1412, Fax # 903-759-3598.
Furnish and install where indicated on plans S-5! SNOFENCE or SNORAIL assembly for snow retention as follows: S-5-A clamps are to be used at [ every; every second ] panel seam, within 8 - 12 inches from the roof panel eave edge. S-5-AE clamps are to be used in lieu of the S-5-A at a frequency of one per 48' (maximum) linear feet of assembly. The S-5-AE shall also be provided at each end of each assembly. All S-5! clamps are to be installed true-to-line. Stainless steel fasteners are to be tightened using a tool with a rating of 115 inch-pounds. When relying upon tested tensile shear tests, this tension shall be periodically verified during installation. In no event shall the clamp spacing exceed 24 inches.
S-5! SNOROD is to be furnished and installed through each S-5! clamp. Adjacent sections of SNOROD are to be joined using couplings provided by manufacturer. Allow 1/4" between rod ends within coupling for linear thermal expansion of rod. SNOROD is to be furnished is [ aluminum; stainless steel ].
S-5! SNOCLIPS shall be used on panels with rib heights exceeding two inches. SNOCLIPS (5") shall be furnished [ one; two; three ] per panel, evenly spaced, and installed to the upslope side of the SNOROD. If panel seam heights are two inches or less, SNOCLIPS (2 1/2") shall be installed only where and if indicated on the plans.
For SNOFENCE Assembly: Furnish and install the S-5! SNOPOST at all S-5-A clamp locations on assemblies where indicated on plans. In S-5! assemblies utilizing SNOPOSTS, the SNOPOST-E shall be used at each S-5-AE clamp throughout the assembly. Install S-5! SNOROD thru all SNOPOSTS. Adjacent sections of SNOROD are to be joined using couplings provided by manufacturer. Allow 1/4" between rod ends within coupling for linear thermal expansion of rod.
Finish: All S-5! components are to be furnished in [ tumbled mill finish aluminum & stainless steel or satin clear anodized ] finish. Painted finishes, including Kynar 500®, are not available from the manufacturer.
Suitability of any S-5! assembly for local area and job conditions is the responsibility of the designer or architect/engineer. Roof panels must be adequately attached to structure or substrate. All loads incurred by the S-5! assembly will be transferred to the panels.
