ROOF CURB SPECIFICATIONS

SECTION - 000 PREFABRICATED METAL BUILDING ROOF CURBS

1 - GENERAL

1.01The general conditions and supplemental general conditions of the contract apply to this section as if completely written herein.

1.02The General Contractor shall provide all labor, material and equipment to completely install prefabricated Metal Roof Curbs.

1.03Prefabricated Metal Roof Curbs shall be used at all roof penetrations including but not limited to HVAC units, skylights, duct openings, pipe penetrations, and exhaust fans.

2 - PRODUCTS

2.01Prefabricated Metal Roof Curbs shall be manufactured by LMCurbs, 609 Fisher Road (P.O. Box 5299), Longview, Texas 75604 (75608-5299), 1-903-759-1331, 1-800-284-1412, Fax # 903-759-0879.

3 - CONSTRUCTION

3.01Curbs shall be constructed using minimum .080, 3003H14 aluminum, or heavier as required to support the load of the equipment, with fully mitered and heli-arc welded corners, integral base plates, with water diverter cricket. Factory installed insulation available upon request.

3.02Minimum height of Curb shall be 8" above finished roof (or as specified).

3.03Curbs shall be constructed to match slope of roof and provide a level top surface for mounting of equipment.

3.04Curb flange shall be constructed to match configuration of roof panel. Side flange shall extend to the next natural seam in the roof panels and conform to seam configurations.

4 - COORDINATION

4.01Size of curbs and required options shall be coordinated by curb manufacturer and general contractor and mechanical contractor prior to fabrication.

4.02Shop drawings bearing architects approval shall be used for the fabrication of the curbs.
